Stars and Stripes in San Antonio

Sharing is caring!

Tuesday night, in the dark, Grandpa and the kids decorated the riding lawn mower with red, white and blue in preparation for the much awaited annual neighborhood 4th of July Parade.

The kids could not wait!

Yesterday morning we loaded the kids up and began our parade journey.

See that sweet little girl? Her name is Liberty, appropriately named. This is Lenny’s nephews little girl and my boys have had so much fun playing with her as she is visiting  Grandma and Grandpa’s house too from Dallas.

For the record, girls wear stars and stripes, tutus and hair bows when celebrating.   I am not even sure if my boys brushed their teeth before we headed out Wednesday morning.

Grandpa is a real estate agent. Can you tell?

Anthony drove the riding lawn mower and pulled the kids in the trailer.

Off we went to get in line.

Slow and steady wins the race.

We were greeted by the local Boy Scouts.

And the parade began.

Families made their way through the neighborhood in their patriotic gear.

Kids on bikes.

Decorated lawn mowers.

Kiddy electric cars.

Wagons.

Tom Landry hats. (Even in San Antonio.)

Motorized three wheelers.

Uncle Sam.

He is Grandpa’s good friend and the neighborhood mascot.

I love this yard.

And, fire trucks.

Did I mention boys love fire trucks?

Family.

Lots of family.

Can you tell Little Matthew is always ON.

He loves to perform for the camera.

And I loved this Declaration of Independence that was posted on the back of someone’s bike.

What did your 4th of July look like?
