A Busy Little Elf

Sharing is caring!

Elf has been pretty busy at our house. We hardly call him by his name, Dolphin.

Every morning Nick and Luke wake up on a hunt for him. Matthew plays along because he is two and that is what two year olds do.

Sometimes Elf is still in the same spot as the night before, but quickly moves when no one is looking.

Talk about amazing!

We have found him in the Christmas tree. That was pretty cool.

Sometimes he leaves clever notes.

And sometimes Nick and Luke leave a note, or make beautiful art work, or glittery paper wads for him.

I pray they never find the art work stash.

And, sometimes he eats candy and leaves his trash behind.

Last night Nick and Luke ended up in our bed, like many nights.

This morning when they found Elf in their bunk bed… um, it sparked new interest in sleeping all night long in their own room.

Oh the possibilities!

What has your Elf been up to?  Kelle over at Enjoying the Small Things has a very funny post on her site right now about their Elf experience and the whole magical aspect of it all. Oh boy can I relate. We have changed a few of the Elf rules as we go along. Like, grown-ups can touch him (for example if he falls over, etc) and he will not lose his magic. Losing his magic is a very heavy topic,  ya know.

  1. I’ve set the alarm on my phone to go off at 9pm every night so I won’t forget to move our elf! I can honestly say it’s the only reason ours has moved every night! Ours doesn’t do any sort of “funny business” but I’m thinking next year when they are 7 and 3, the kids will love that! I’ll have to come up with a story about why he’s messing around for the first time in 4 years! Love your blog!
