Mistake #2: Productivity-Killing Mistakes Nearly Everyone Makes

Sharing is caring!

Yesterday I shared with you an awesome new planner that is perfect for moms. It is made by Buttoned Up, a group of organizing gurus who believe there are three productivity killing mistakes we might be making.

I am not even going to try to pretend I am not part of that group.

The first mistake many of us make is not being able to differentiate between a laundry list vs. a to do list.

Um, that is totally me!

You can read more about mistake #1 here.

Mistake #2

Missing opportunities to batch similar tasks. When you approach your to-do list as series of individual tasks, you nearly always waste significant chunks of time. Tackling related tasks in one whack, whether they’re errands you need to run or phone calls you need to make, is the most efficient way from Point A to Point B.

And Buttoned Up has a solution for that in their Weekly.agenda planner they have designed with moms in mind.

In the Weekly.agenda planner the layout allows you to do just that- batch like tasks which will all allow you to tackle tasks more easily.

Do you find it difficult to stay on task with your to-do lists?

Do you have a method that allows you to batch mommy tasks easily?

  1. After reading David Allen’s Getting Things Done, I started batching my task lists by context, i.e. Phone Calls, Computer, Office, Kitchen, Errands, etc. I also have lists for different people. Originally, I had these lists on paper, but now I have almost everything in Evernote. Because Evernote is in the cloud as it were, I can access my lists anywhere I can use the Evernote app. It’s pretty cool!
