School’s Out for Summer

Sharing is caring!

We are not a posh family. I repeat- we are NOT a posh family. We’re pretty bare bones most of the time and live a pretty frugal life. However, yesterday was an exception.

Our two oldest boys, Garrett and Anthony, have been begging to rent a limo for a couple of years now. They’ve wanted it to pick them up from school and take them around town with their friends.

Here was the agreement. They had to both forfeit their birthday parties this year and in lieu of a party they could invite friends from school and the limo could drive them around town for a couple of hours. And since the ride needed to be chaperoned, this would require the little brothers coming along as well. And why not invite our friend Kim and her kiddos too?

They jumped on the deal, of course.

I do want to give a quick shout-out to Captain Limo Service here in the DFW area. After calling many local limo companies, and a lot of them blowing us off because this was an after school event for 15 children, Captain Limousine  totally took care of us!  If you are a local reader and ever plan a limo ride, give them a call. Their pricing was very fair and affordable. And the driver, Mr. Jason, rocked and was so patient with us.

The limo picked the kids up at school as they were being dismissed and drove us around town. School was released at noon yesterday, so we had the entire afternoon ahead of us!

Our first stop was our favorite snow cone shop Bedford Snoball (which has the most amazing strawberry shortcake snow cone  you will ever devour).

After the snow cones we were back on the road again where we partied like rock stars!

Turn the music up, baby!

Soon the limo dropped us off at the mall, where we ate pizza in the food court and then watched King Fu Panda 2 in 3D.

Kung Fu Panda 2, rocked by the way.

Lugging that many kids around town makes for a nice headache by 6:00 pm.

The kids had a BLAST!

Momma slept like a baby.

Limo rides rock!

Momma wants a posh lifestyle.

Sometimes.

A limo ride in lieu of a birthday party is a mommy solution!
