Six Figure Moms

my life in photos

Over Spring Break (about 6 weeks ago here in Texas) we made a trip with one of my brothers and his wife and kids and went to my in-laws in San Antonio.

One day while we were there we made a trip to the beach in Corpus Christi.

This was my kids’ first time to ever see the beach (other than on tv). They were amazed.

The water was still cold, but it was probably close to 80 degrees out.

We really thought we would just look and dip our toes in the water.

Everyone shed their shoes.

And before we knew it everyone was in the water.

Teeth chattering and not caring one bit.

I mean, how could you resist the ocean?

(I must admit, my sister-in-law had to talk me down off the roof on this. All I could think was…. we have no dry clothes.)

Other than a sand box they had never experienced sand either.

It was like watching a movie.

Nick was not totally keen on running in the water.

But sticks and sand…. oh yeah!

Matthew and cousin Wyatt were fascinated.

By this point Matthew had ditched his wet clothes.

And now Anthony can say he has danced on the beach.

To say the kids had a blast would be an understatement.

We made memories for sure.

And we stopped at the nearest Walmart for dry clothes.

Christmas 1988

December 27, 2012 my life in photos

I have been meaning to share this photo for a couple of weeks, but Elf on the Shelf posts and traveling and the holiday in general have kind of taken over. In 1988 I was eleven years old. I remember the day this picture was taken. Back in the 80′s they had these tall, and [...]

Life With Boys: When Boys Need Coaching (Off the Field)

October 11, 2012 my life in photos

Anthony is 11. He is a handsome, athletic, kind-hearted, giving and very loving kid. He and Luke (6) have very similar personalities, much like their dad. Anthony knows the morning routine. It has been the same for years. Get up. Brush your teeth. Comb your hair (wet it if needed). Get dressed. Socks and shoes. [...]

Life Happens and Someone Demands a Big Boy Haircut

September 29, 2012 mommy struggles

Far too often I try to hold on to every last special moment with Matthew… because I know. I know that we are not having any more babies. Unless there is some act of God that unties my tubes and makes a miracle happen. He is three and a half and I still call him [...]

Let Them Build Legos

September 6, 2012 my life in photos

Some days this is what is all over my dining room floor. Or kitchen table. Or living room. Build. Rebuild. Modify. Creations from the minds of little boys with amazing imaginations. This will entertain them for hours. And I don’t mind one bit. As long as I don’t step on a straggler- like the Lego [...]

Does This Appeal to You

September 1, 2012 my life in photos

There are five acres a little over an hour east of the DFW area that sit in a slow-paced town. Peaceful. Green. Beautiful. No Starbucks. We drove through downtown and I do not even see a coffee shop. But there is a hardware store. The closest Target is about 40 minutes away. No shopping mall. [...]
