How to Make a Captain America and Thor Costume #31DIYcostumes

Sharing is caring!

My two boys love anything super hero.  Like really!! They LOVE all of the super heroes.  So, what better idea to have them dress up as Captain America or Thor?  My youngest son is really into Thor these days.  It must be the really big hammer he carries around with him.  He used to love Captain America too.

My oldest still loves to play with all of the super heroes, but would rather be something much more scary now.  So much for fun costumes like these, huh?

Some of the Captain America costume does call for sewing, as well as paint, tape, felt, cardboard for the shield, glue, blue card stock and blue sweat pants.

The Thor costume is the cutesiest of all, I think.  For this one you need a gray sweat shirt, black sweat pants, contact paper, vinyl, stencil paper, or any type of paper really, tape, card board for the hammer, and paint of course.  These DIY Halloween costumes are pretty simple and cheap as well.

I found these adorable super hero costumes over at the Scrap Shoppe Blog. The step by step tutorial is very easy to help guide you in making this costume.  It also has plenty of photographs to help those visual people out there.

I just love these costumes.  I think homemade super hero costumes are so fun and you can have those little ones help build it as well.  Those boys will be able to have lots of super hero fun in the back yard at any given day with these.
