Back to School Guide #MomsGuide

Sharing is caring!

When my oldest son started Kindergarten back in 2004, the thrill of school supply shopping, new school clothes, new shoes and Meet the Teacher Night at his elementary school were so exciting.

I ran from store to store to try and find the items on the supply list.   Keyword- try.

We shopped at Gap and Old Navy for the most adorable wardrobe. Please note, Gap is now out of my price range. Old Navy is a luxury and Target is more in my price range.

And after weeks and weeks invested in running from store to store looking for that specific handwriting tablet with blue lines on top and red lines on the bottom and still walking out of stores empty-handed, I soon realized why many moms dreaded this time of year. It can be very stressful.

I know it is still July, but if you’ve checked your mail lately you’ve already seen the circulars.

If you’ve stepped foot into a department store you’ve likely seen the ads.

Back to school is upon us and I have a mommy solution you will not want to miss.

Elmer’s, Tyson, Sears and Cookies Kids have all partnered together to take the headache out of back to school shopping with this Moms Guide.

What is it about back to school time that makes you crazy? I hate the crowds and running from store to store.

What will your back to school routine look like this year? For us, the twins already have their school supplies because we’ve already started homeschooling. We will get them a new fall and winter wardrobe and new shoes. Anthony starts 5th grade and he is excited to return to public school- the same elementary school he has attended since First grade. Garrett is going into 8th grade- I remember my 8th grade year like it was yesterday.

Do you have a budget for each child for clothes, shoes and supplies? Do you do any of your shopping online? Do you order supplies from the school or do you do all the leg work yourself?

I would love to know what back to school looks like at your house.

We bought Troys school supplies through his school for this year which I am kind of excited about. I do like shopping for school stuff. I always have. Troy on the other hand could care less about it. We will start buying clothes early this year because Troy wears uniforms. The sell out quick out here in Burleson. I LOVE summer so I am sad that it is coming to an end, but I am ready for the routine of school. I miss that!!

  2. This year my son starts preschool so I’m in that excited phase!!
