We were standing at the baseball practice field last night watching our little ones slide into all the bases before heading out for our 11 year olds ball game.
Boys MUST slide into every base you know.
Every time.
The tan pants of one of the little guys on our tball team were now a solid shade of green around the knees.
His mother turned to me and said what will get grass stains out?
Here are four home remedies you can try on grass stains:
- Pour a bit of corn syrup on the stain and launder as normal.
- Scrub toothpaste into the stain with an old toothbrush. Launder as normal.
- If the toothpaste is not doing it alone, add equal parts vinegar and baking soda to the toothpaste mixture. Scrub some more and launder as normal.
- Bad grass stain that needs to soak? Rub it with molasses and let it set over night. Launder as normal.
What is your mommy solution for removing grass stains?

I used to soak white baseball pants (ugh) in water with some powdered dishwasher detergent. It has been a long time, but I think I used to pour Era directly on the stains too.
Thank you so much Carol for the suggestions.
I have never used Era, but their commercials do illustrate great stain fighting.
Thanks so much for the great ideas! We are just getting into baseball/park play season and I know my 8 kiddos are going to give me the biggest challenge yet!
This is my first visit to your blog—I’d love for you to stop by and say Hi on mine, too, if you’ve got a minute!
Have a great day,
Sarah
