Teeth Whitening at Home for Under $1

in being thrifty, mommy solutions

Want an inexpensive, at home, teeth whitening solution?

After brushing your teeth dip a cotton swab into a bottle of hydrogen peroxide. Rub the cotton swab on your teeth. You can grab a large bottle of hydrogen peroxide at the store for under $1.

After all, this is the active ingredient in most teeth whitening strips and those strips are pricy if you ask me.

Also, the active ingredient in hydrogen peroxide needs to stay cold. By staying cold it will last longer. Store your peroxide in the fridge.

I love this thrifty mommy solution!

Elise- and I would get annoyed walking around with strips attached to my teeth for an extended period of time.

I believe this! After haveing my wisdom teeth removed a few years back, I was instructed to swish proxide/water 3 times a day. My teeth were white within a week!

I tried this a while back and it irritated my gums. I’m going to have to try this again and try to avoid my gums. :)

So far it has not bothered my gums, but I think that is why they say to use the cotton swab so you can avoid your gums if they are easily irritated.
Hope it works for you. :)

WHAT MESSES WITH THE ENAMEL IS THE TOOTHPASTE….YOU USE A TINY AMOUNT….LIKE A PEARL SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR TOOTHBRUSH….TOOTHPASTE IS AN ABRASIVE.

YOU NOTICE THERE NO INSTRUCTIONS…THEY WANT YOU TO USE A LOT, SO YOU CAN BUY MORE.

This is nice, A lot of people are desperately looking for products they can use to whiten their teeth. Having a product like this can put a sweet smile on our faces but of course, as always mentioned by majority, still ask your dentist for professional advise. ^^

That is a great writeup. It is short that full of sense. I didn’t know before that hydrogen peroxide can whitens teeth. I know before that baking soda can whiten teeth, but not hydrogen peroxide. Now, I know an another home remedy to whiten teeth. Thanks for sharing this great information.

I don’t. I just use the Qtip and rub it on my teeth after I’ve brushed.
