Smelly Garbage Disposal?

Do you have a garbage disposal? Does your disposal get smelly from time to time?

For the record, I hated ours and had Lenny remove it when we changed out our sink before Matthew was born. Am I the only person who hates a garbage disposal?

I have a mommy solution for you. (Aside from tossing the disposal out the window.)

When it starts to get smelly (or be proactive and do this on a routine basis) run lemon or orange rind through the garbage disposal. Really you could use any citrus fruit. I love the smell of grapefruit and limes as well.

It is a natural deodorizer.   And inexpensive, too!

I am sharing this mommy solution on these resourceful sites: i heart naptime,  the girl creativeC.R.A.F.T. craftomatic,  crafts keep me sane,   skip to my loumaking the world cuter, a southern fairytalesumos sweet stuff mad in crafts, tip junkie, tasty tuesdaytempt my tummy tuesdaycraft edition hope studiostodays creative blog, sew much adosomeday craftswe are that family blue cricket designs somewhat simplepaisley passionshouse of hepworths fun to craftfingerprints on the fridge, tidy moma few of my favorite things and  it’s a hodge podge life.   Looking for a more copious list? I did not realize this tip until my husband, of all people, told me about it! Of course, HIS mother told him so…Anyway, I wanted to tell you that I’ve given you 2 awards: “Kreativ Blog Award” and “One Lovely Blog Award.”

Throwing a handful of ice into the garbage disposal also helps clean it — That and citrus and it is much fresher.
