Trick or Treating Bedtime Tip

Sharing is caring!

Over the years I have come up with ways to make trick or treating as smooth as possible for my kiddos. This trick has been a lifesaver to make bedtime an easier transition since most of my little kids will fall asleep on the way home.

In Texas it is generally hot here on the night of Halloween and so many of the costumes are ideal for cooler weather.

Our kids get sweaty and tired.

For the last couple of years I’ve been putting pajamas under my kiddo’s Halloween costumes- for two reasons.

#1. It makes shedding costumes possible.

#2. When they fall asleep on the way home, and they generally do, we can wipe their faces and put them to bed.

Give it a try this Halloween. It certainly is a mommy solution!

  1. Love the idea! Growing up in CA, we definitely had warm Halloween nights. But now we live in Utah and jackets are a must which cover up the cute costumes. But pj’s and sweats is a great idea! I’ll need to remember that as my daughter gets older.

  2. Where we live here in Canada it’s pretty cold for Halloween so we wear pj’s under our costumes too… it keeps them warm and makes life so easy for momma and daddy too!

  3. Found you from We Are That Family. I love the tip for easy bedtime! We will be fighting Texas’ heat this Halloween too:)

  4. What a great idea. I’ll definitely have to remember that for this year!

  5. Super smart. My little one barely let us takes off her princess dresses as it is. I wouldn’t want a fight at bed time after a long day. thanks for the tip. xoxo

  6. Genius……well thought!! BTW, I had the same costume for my son a few years ago…..its so stinkin’ cute, isn’t it?? thanks for sharing 🙂

    1. Thanks Alexis. We have a little tradition. We trick or treat, go to dinner with our group of friends and then my kids are exhausted.

With their pj’s on underneath, we just take their costumes off, wash faces, and they are out. 🙂
