Rada Cutlery’s Cook’s Knife (permanently cast solid Brushed Aluminium handle)

Until recently I had never heard of the product line Rada Cutlery. Good kitchen knives are hard to come by and are so pricey.

Years ago, before our family was so large, I spent far too much on good knives for the kitchen. As in ridiculously spent too much. A good knife costs lots, right?

Am I officially a knife snob?

It is funny because my husband has been known to buy knives from the dollar store to try and trick me. I know a good knife when I use one!

Rada Cutlery mailed me a silver Brushed Aluminum handle Cook’s Knife to try. Immediately, I loved the weight of it!

They also sent me a Regular Paring Knife to try as well. This knife has the black Stainless Steel Resin handle that is dishwasher safe. Nice and small and perfect for peeling potatoes and dicing bell peppers.

I was stoked and couldn’t wait to try them. I quickly opened the Rada Cutlery catalog to see how much a set of these knives would set me back and the prices made my chin hit the floor. The Cook’s Knife costs less than $10.00 in the catalog and the Regular Paring Knife is less than $5.00.  My immediate thought: there is no way these knives are going to work.

Remember, I know everything!

I should be embarrassed. First time I used the Cook’s Knife I cut my thumb right open.

Seriously.

They literally just slide across whatever you’re cutting. Chicken, fingers (no chicken fingers were tested, just plain ol’ human fingers… well, really it was a thumb) veggies, mincing, prepping- they totally handle the job.
