Twin Tips…. Pregnant Twin Belly Pictures- NO STRETCH MARKS!

in advice for twin moms,so you're having twins, twin tips

This week our Twins {& MORE} Board is tackling pregnant belly pictures! We want you guys to see that all women who carry multiples are different. Erin is going to share with us her precious belly when she carried identical twin boys who are now two years old!! And boy do I envy no stretch marks!

. . . . .

Looking back, I really wish I would have documented the growth of my belly a little more. My photographs were hit or miss.

This was the last photo taken of my belly at 28 weeks.

I know the quality isn’t all that great…but if you look closely…you can see I didn’t have a single stretch mark. Can you even believe that? I am still in shock. No stretch marks!

Baby B sat very high up in my ribs. I was always rubbing a bump in my belly that I thought was a head. I later found out it was Baby B’s little butt I was rubbing the whole time. Baby A sat very low in my belly. So low that he was difficult to photograph via ultrasound as well as get a good listen of his heartbeat. He was the baby that ended up with one of those little monitors on his head inside the womb prior to delivery.

This shot, although blurry, was the last photo taken of my husband and I pre-children. I was exactly 31 weeks of pure swollen goodness.

At that point the doctors were still positive that I could go several weeks longer while on hospital bed rest.

Thanks to a lovely infection and many contractions throughout the night, the following morning I was told I was going to meet my sweet boys that day.

Delivered: 31 weeks & 1 day
Delivery Method: Vaginal
Date: April 3, 2008
Times: Baby A ~ 11:44am / Baby B ~ 11:48am
Weight: Baby A ~ 3lbs. 14oz / Baby B ~ 3lbs. 11oz
Twin Type: Identical
NICU Time: Baby A ~ 28 days / Baby B ~ 31 days
Days I spent in hospital: Delivered on a Thursday, home (reluctantly) on Saturday.
Any Issues: My boys didn’t have any issues other than those typical of babies born at that early gestation. Their lungs were not yet developed so at first they were on breathing tubes and given doses of steroids to speed up the growth of their lungs. They were then switched to CPAP, then slowly to room air. They were considered “feeders and growers”.

I LOVE that picture of the boys. They are just so sweet! It still amazes me how small they start and how fast they get big. And no stretch marks? That is amazing. I wish so much I didn't have any. Oh well… :)
