So, You’re Having Twins… Diaper Bags Part 3 (Guest Post)

Sharing is caring!

Crystal & Co - Twins

Did you miss the first two parts? No worries!

Sonora at Twinfinity shared her two favorite diaper bag choices as she has FOUR children under the age of five with a set of twins in the mix.

I shared my favorite diaper bag on Monday.

Today it’s Erin’s turn. She can not decide if she loves diaper bags or hates them, but she has two very handy devices to share! Make sure you read her bio at the end where you can be directed to her site.

Ugh! Diaper bags. Do you love them or hate them? Me? I detest them.

Finding the perfect diaper bag was a quest I was unable to conquer until my twins were 18 months old.

I am a (knock-off) designer bag kind of gal so those cutesie-wootse diaper bags you find at places like BRU and Buy Buy Baby just did not do it for me. Not to mention, most diaper bags are made for parents of one child. Room for one bottle, two diapers, one change of clothes, a blanket, and snacks.

Try needing a bag that can accommodate two (or more) bottles or sippy cups, baby food for two, snacks for two, two changes of clothes, double the diapers, and a spare blanket or two.

Can you say Hockey Bag?

I was gifted a messenger style diaper bag at my baby shower. It was a cute bag for some but just too manly for my liking.

I used a quilted type beach bag for quite some time. My husband liked this bag as he could put the straps around his neck while carrying two children. He was quite the site when he did this! I didn’t mind this bag, but there weren’t any pockets and such to organize my items in a manner that was orderly and easy to get to.

A little over six months ago a friend of mine had one of those Thirty-One parties.I had never heard of them. Finally I found the diaper bag of my dreams. I purchased the Organizing Utility Tote and have been in love ever since.

This tote has seven pockets around the exterior good for bottles, sippy cups, binkies, socks, and rolled up onesies. The interior is very roomy and wide open so it is easy to access any items inside. There are two straps that aren’t to short or too long so wearing on my shoulder along with a purse while holding the hands of two two-year olds it is comfortable and it doesn’t constantly slip down. The only downfall is it does not have any type of closure so when your kids are in the “tear everything out of the diaper bag phase” you will have to store it in a place they can not get to.

I highly recommend this bag and it is very affordable. You can even have it embroidered with anything you like.

Another item I have found very useful, is the Diapees & Wipees bag. This cute little bag that you can order in any sort of fabric, holds (for me) three diapers and a travel pack of wipes.

Now that my twins are two, I don’t always need to lug around a diaper bag. If we are going to the grocery store or just on a quick trip I throw the Diapees & Wipees bag right into my (gigantic mom) purse, along with sippy cups and a baggy of snacks.

You don’t have to give up your sense of style once you have children. There are many options out there that will enable you to organize your outings as best as possible with multiples, all the while maintaining a small piece of the fashionista you once were 🙂

My name is Erin. I am a full time working mom to 2 year old identical twin boys, and wife to my best friend for 5 years and counting. In my spare time (because I have so much of THAT) I enjoy photography, blogging, tweeting, and catching up on the latest in reality TV. You can find Erin over at Goldylocks and Her Three Bears.
