Crystal’s Life in Stacks

Sharing is caring!

The AirKing Stack– New stack, but big stack. Out of control stack. Do not know what to do with most of it stack… refer to the Lenny Stack.

The Mail Stack– Just open it all ready would you? Before the electricity gets cut off would be ideal.

The All-These-Damn-School-Papers-And-It-Is-Already-Summer Stack– Let go Crystal. Throw it away. Every mother does not keep every paper. Your a good Mom and no stack of papers will prove otherwise.

The PTA Stack– Why do we lack the ability to just hand things over… just let go…. just understand that you did your best, you made a difference, it is time to move forward? Pass the torch.

The Each Kid Stack– Yes, this stack is very different from the ‘Damn-School-Paper-Stack’.

The Someday I Will Get To It Stack– Yeah, I am thinking the same thing you are. Get over it, right?

The Very Important Stack That I Can Never Find– This is my favorite stack. You have this stack at your house, too. Do not deny it! Embrace it. Love it. You will find it someday… sooner is better than later of course. No pressure.

The Laundry Stack– I love my new washer and dryer I really do. I like the process of washing the clothes and adding all the detergent, bleach and softener. It reminds me of being a child and playing ‘Laundry Mat’. Believe it or not the two inch by two inch compartment on my new washer and dryer that holds the recipe of cleanliness is the most organized spot in my house. One place for detergent- labeled, of course. One place for bleach, this too labeled. And, one place for fabric softer, you guessed right, labeled. Moving to the next step of placing the april fresh smelling laundry into the dryer that smells even better as I ‘stack’ the laundered clothes on top of the dryer. What comes next? Hang them, fold them… I do not know because there are bigger fish to fry in the other room. One fish might be catching the kitchen on fire which will inspire tomorrows post (you think I am kidding don’t you). So, we are left with a wrinkled stack of course… Lenny calls it a pile, but we agree to disagree.

The Lenny Stack– Oh Lord. I will need anti-anxiety medicine before I can even touch this stack.

Where is Crystal’s Stack? Oh, it is the stack that was obliterated by the ceiling fan and Luke’s imaginary dog named Shem (seriously!). It is the stack that is part of the Very Important Papers Stack that I can never find. It is the same stack that has a PB and J lying on top of it (jelly oozing out) and oh, there are my damn car keys! Just when I thought I had completely lost my mind.

Wow, my therapy for the day. I think I can cancel my appointment now. That felt so good… just get it all out there.

The Therapy Stack– Now accepting new patients.

*This post inspired by my hunt for Garrett’s insurance card after the twins emptied out my wallet. None of the names have been changed to protect the innocent. Nothing is dramatized. And yes, I acknowledge that the twins lack discipline for those who think I might be in denial (Mom and Lenny’s brother Larry). Card search still in progress by the way.

I hope this helps another mommy get through her day. I really do!

My stacking is done~

Hey…these stacks look VERY familiar! Maybe you should market bins with those labels on them become a bazillionaire. We need to add one though…Stacks of Stuff That Need Stacks. Too big for just a bin, maybe a Dumpster?

  2. You should write a book! or a screen play for a show or movie. I miss hanging out with you and exchanging stories while avoiding work at McKesson.

  3. Yes, I am familiar with those stacks. They seemed to get into one pile which I referred to as the "black hole".
